Rysz is the Chair of the ELR GP Fed
He has been a GP in Oakham since 2012, more recently moving to be based at the allied practices at Market Overton and Somerby.
Prior to moving to Rutland, Rysz has spent many years in general practice both in Bedfordshire and Essex and been actively involved in primary care development over that time from total purchasing and fundholding through to practice based commissioning and the formation of CCGs. He also took time away from primary care to be medical director of a hospice
Commenting on his role with the ELR GP Fed, Rysz said:
“General Practice is facing growing pressures trying to balance increasing demand and expectation with reduced resources both financial and with a diminishing workforce. In order to face these challenges there needs to be cooperation at scale to influence change and provide a significant voice for primary care in the planning and delivery of future healthcare. Identifying opportunities and working with other organisations and providers can rationalise health care provision, improving the patient experience but also improving workload and reducing frustration in primary care, improving sustainability and job satisfaction.
Primary care has always been innovative and needs to continue to be so. Working together within a Fed provides opportunities to develop primary care but also to protect the core values that make this such a precious resource.”
