Louise Ryan is Board Member for Oadby and Wigston
Louise has lived and worked in Leicester and Leicestershire since 1999, when she commenced medical training at Leicester Medical School.
She trained as a GP at the Glenfield Surgery and, following four years as a GP at Hazlemere Medical Centre in Blaby, she joined Central Surgery in Oadby, where she works a a GP Partner and GP Trainer.
Speaking of her reasons for wanting to join the ELR GP Fed Board, Louise says:
“I truly love my job and feel honoured to play a vital role in the lives of so many. I want to be allowed to continue to enjoy this challenging vocation and not go the way of so many of my peers who “burn out” or choose to leave the profession. I believe we are valuable resources with huge depths of knowledge and experience and we must be nurtured and cared for in the same way we care for our patients. Training GPs to be “resilient” is just one way of supporting our colleagues but the Fed can play a huge role in shaping and controlling the external factors which affect our everyday working lives.”
